SBI PO Exam
SBI PO exam, also known as SBI Probationary Officer exam, is conducted by State Bank of India to recruit candidates for the post of Probationary Officers in its branches across the country. Here are the details of SBI PO exam:
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Age Limit: The age of the candidate should be between 21 to 30 years as on the specified date.
- Educational Qualification: Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Exam Pattern:
Preliminary Examination: The preliminary examination consists of 100 objective type questions for a total of 100 marks. The duration of the exam is 1 hour. Questions are asked from three sections – English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

Main Examination: The Main Examination consists of two parts – Objective Test and Descriptive Test. The objective test consists of 155 objective type questions for a total of 200 marks. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The questions are asked from four sections – Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness and English Language. The descriptive test consists of 2 questions for a total of 50 marks. The duration of the exam is 30 minutes. Questions are asked to test the writing skills of the candidate.

Selection Process:
- The selection process for SBI PO exam consists of three stages – preliminary exam, mains exam and group exercise and interview. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam will be eligible to appear in the main exam. Candidates who qualify in the main exam will be called for group exercise and interview. Final selection will be based on marks obtained in main examination and group exercise and interview.
- Candidates selected for the post of Probationary Officer will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020. Apart from the basic pay, the candidates will also be eligible for various allowances and benefits as per the rules and regulations of the Bank.
